It is important to stay vigilant about maintaining eligibility and providing updated information to Indiana Family and Social Services (FSSA). The Vick Law Medicaid+ Program assists clients in submitting clients’ responses to the
Medicaid Annual Redetermination. Each year the Medicaid recipient’s eligibility is scrutinized through Medicaid’s Annual Redetermination. These annual redetermination notices are mailed to the Medicaid recipient and/or the Medicaid recipient’s Authorized Representative. The consequence of not responding to the annual redetermination
notice could be the termination of Medicaid eligibility.
The Vick Law Medicaid+ Program assists clients in filing Medicaid appeals. Occasionally, FSSA will obtain incorrect information about a Medicaid recipient. For instance, FSSA has recently admitted to a “computer glitch” that attributed a transfer penalty period to Medicaid recipients when transfer penalty period had ended several months beforehand. This incorrect information can lead to the termination of Medicaid eligibility. In such a situation, it is sometimes necessary to file a Medicaid appeal. Beyond issues with FSSA itself, the Vick Law Medicaid+ Program provides an
opportunity for clients and their representatives to ask questions of Vick Law, P.C. as those questions arise.
Scope of Services
Vick Law, P.C. will do the following for Medicaid recipients participating in the Vick Law Medicaid+ Program as necessary to maintain Medicaid eligibility:
- Serve as Authorized Representative;
- Receive correspondence from FSSA and submit correspondence to FSSA;
- Relaying all correspondence from FSSA to the Medicaid recipient and/or the
Medicaid recipient’s attorney-in-fact or guardian;
- Make phone calls to and receive phone calls from FSSA;
- Manage the Annual Redetermination process;
- Communicate with the Medicaid recipient and his/her representatives regarding
correspondence with FSSA;
- Provide advice regarding Medicaid planning strategies to maintain eligibility;
- Answer questions via phone call, email, text message, and/or Clio Client Portal;
- Represent the Medicaid recipient in a Medicaid appeal if necessary.
